The International Journal of Applied Behavioral Economics (IJABE) is an official publication of IGI - Global, USA.

Release date: January 2012.

  1. The OVERALL MISSION of IJABE

The Journal seeks to discuss the main applications of Behavioral Economics in business and organizations, under digitalization and new technologies implementation. Most part of the body of work in Behavioral Economics arises from findings which show human boundary rationality, failures in acting in self – interest, loss aversion and other features which influence the process of making economic choices and decisions but, despite of the importance of this interdisciplinary perspective, the practical applications of these findings are less well represented. The Journal aims to promote papers which show a direct link between Behavioral Economics findings and concrete, practical applications at business and organizational level, with a special focusing on effects of technology implementation and usage on economic agents’ perception, behavior and decision making processes.

For this purpose, the Journal aims to be a distribution channel on state-of-the art research that contributes to theory and practice development in this domain of knowledge. A primary criterion for publication in IJEB is reporting on research that is both academically rigorously executed and relevant for practice either in people’s theoretical economic education, or in business community.

The Journal aims to focus its scope towards understanding how preferences, attitude and behavioral issues influence economic agents who act whether as consumers or as producers, investors or other categories involved in business and organizational domain. In the mentioned area, the Journal encourages practice-oriented research papers from academics, case studies, and reflective papers from practitioners. A special attention will be directed toward the implications that globalization and digitalization have on business and organizations, from a behavioral point of view, as well as toward the impact of these aspects on business and organizational results. The interdisciplinary approach is required, as economics, psychology, sociology, anthropology are domains that help in understanding the complex economic behavior, its triggers and its practical implications. The interdisciplinary approach pursues to provide the researchers with complete tools for analysis.
